IBM furthers commitment to climate action in partnership with The University of Chicago Trust

IBM is investing in environmental sustainability in India, partnering with The University of Chicago Trust to scale water solutions through the IBM Sustainability Accelerator. The initiative will benefit local communities, while a first-of-its-kind sustainability skills course is available for free through IBM SkillsBuild. These efforts aim to empower innovators and advance environmental sustainability, a crucial aspect of climate action in India.

IBM is partnering with The University of Chicago Trust in India to develop water management solutions as part of its global social impact program, the IBM Sustainability Accelerator. Justina Nixon-Saintil, IBM Vice President & Chief Impact Officer said, “With nearly half of the global population vulnerable to significant environmental distress, new strategies to help create a sustainable future are essential.”

IBM has pledged $30 million in technology and services until 2025, introducing five new projects focused on water management. The project will provide IBM technologies and an ecosystem of experts. The University of Chicago Trust will aggregate water quality information in India and develop tools for improved water resource management.
