Hyderabad FC, the 2021-22 Indian Super League champions, qualified for the quarterfinals in the 131st edition of the Durand Cup after a 3-0 win over NEROCA FC on Tuesday. During their third successive win, Hyderabad FC expressed their gratitude towards the organizers of the historic tournament which was being staged in Imphal for the very first time.

Having had a fantastic experience in the competition so far, with crowds thronging to the Khuman Lampak Stadium to watch the ISL champions, HFC handed a token of gratitude to the CM of Manipur, N Biren Singh, as well Major General Navin Sachdeva, SM (GOC, Red Shields) representing the Indian Armed Forces.
Mr Varun Tripuraneni, Hyderabad FC Co-owner said, “The experience of teams playing in the Durand Cup in Imphal has been an amazing one. All of us at Hyderabad FC hope that we were able to entertain every single fan in Manipur with our football, from the bottom of our hearts.”
“HFC also thanks N Biren Singh, CM of Manipur, for helping in giving football a greater boost in the region. HFC also thanks the Indian Army, the Services and the AlFF for successfully hosting this historic tournament across three venues this year” he added.
