Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced plans to expand its presence in India through two new properties in partnership with Brigade Group. The company signed management agreements with Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited and BCV Developers Private Limited for the upcoming Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR and Hyatt House Bengaluru Devanahalli. The Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR, slated to open in 2029, will be a premium beachfront hotel along East Coast Road, featuring around 200 rooms, five dining venues, wellness facilities, and large event spaces catering to leisure, business, and MICE segments. Brigade officials said the project aims to position Chennai as a key hospitality destination for weddings, staycations, and corporate events.
Meanwhile, Hyatt House Bengaluru Devanahalli, expected to open in 2027, will offer 135 serviced apartments near Kempegowda International Airport. Designed for both short and extended stays, the property will cater to the fast-growing Devanahalli tech corridor, with facilities including dining, meeting spaces, a pool, and fitness centre. Hyatt said the developments align with its strategy to strengthen presence in high-growth Indian markets, while Brigade Group emphasised its commitment to building landmark hospitality assets.
In Kolkata, such expansions by global hotel chains are intensifying competition across metro cities. With Kolkata also witnessing rising demand for premium hospitality and MICE infrastructure, similar large-format developments could be expected as brands look to tap eastern India’s growing travel and business segments.
