Assam recorded an overall pass percentage of 65.62 in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination 2026 with boys outperforming girls. The pass percentage among boys is 67.78 while girls registered 63.96 per cent. The examination was conducted by Assam State School Education Board from February 10 to 27, the results of which were declared today. This year, the overall pass percentage stands at 65.62 per cent, showing a slight improvement compared to last year’s 63.98 per cent. A total of 4, 29,249 students appeared for the examination, out of which 2, 81,701 students have passed.
Looking at division-wise results, 85,189 students secured first division, 1, 50,167 students passed in second division, and 46,345 students were placed in third division. This shows that a large number of students have cleared the exam across all categories. A total of 3,983 students secured distinction marks, while 13,681 students achieved star marks, indicating strong academic performance among many candidates. Apart from this, the data also shows that 9,315 students were absent, while 5 results have been withheld and 135 candidates were expelled during the examination process. As per the merit list, the top five rank holders are Jyotirmoy Das of Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Patacharkuchi; Akankha Bhuyan of Ambikagiri Rai Chaudhari Jatiya Vidyalaya, Howaijan; Jia Farah Islam of Little Flower HS School, Dibrugarh, and Surajit Akhtar, Little Flowers School, Nalbari.
