HPCL ensures steady fuel supply, delivers 62.83 lakh LPG cylinders; tightens action on distributors

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has maintained uninterrupted fuel and LPG supply across the country, supported by a robust supply chain and intensified enforcement measures. Between April 1 and 5, HPCL recorded nozzle sales of 132.81 TMT of Petrol (MS) and 277.64 TMT of Diesel (HSD), reflecting steady consumption trends. To ensure seamless distribution, 30,994 tankers carrying MS, HSD and PDS SKO were dispatched nationwide.

In the LPG segment, the company delivered 62.83 lakh cylinders during the same period, while also supplying 1,05,183 Free Trade LPG cylinders of 5 kg and 10,187 cylinders of 2 kg to improve last-mile access for migrant workers and economically weaker sections. Digital adoption remained strong, with 96.4% of LPG bookings made through platforms such as IVRS, SMS, HP PAY and WhatsApp on April 5, backed by DAC/OTP-based delivery authentication. Strengthening oversight, HPCL conducted 4,110 inspections between March 14 and April 5, taking action against 55 distributors, including 22 suspensions. In coordination with other agencies, 656 raids were carried out, leading to 40 FIRs and seizure of 3,163 LPG cylinders.

In Guwahati, steady fuel supply and high LPG delivery volumes have ensured stable availability across retail outlets, preventing price volatility and supply disruptions. Strong digital booking adoption is also gaining traction in the region, improving efficiency and transparency for consumers while supporting consistent demand in Assam’s largest fuel market.
