High levels of fatigue plague Indian youth, Supradyn survey reveals

A recent survey by Supradyn, a leading multivitamin brand under Bayer’s Consumer Health division, has unveiled alarming statistics about fatigue among young Indians. The Supradyn Fatigue Survey, which covered 10 cities and involved a sample of 20 million individuals aged 25-45, reveals that a staggering 85% of young people wake up feeling tired. This study, conducted by Hansa Research Group, coincides with National Nutrition Week and emphasizes the urgent need for improved nutritional awareness and supplementation.

The survey highlights that major metropolitan areas such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore are at the forefront of this issue, with over 85% of residents reporting persistent fatigue. The research also underscores a significant gap in essential micronutrients, with 96% of respondents feeling they lack crucial vitamins, contributing to their low energy levels. Additionally, 81% of the population experiences a decline in energy throughout the day, leading to difficulties in completing daily tasks. In Kolkata, the survey reflects a growing concern over fatigue, mirroring the trends seen in other major cities. Despite the city’s vibrant lifestyle, 59% of Kolkata residents report feeling their diet is deficient in essential micronutrients. This emphasizes the need for targeted nutritional interventions and increased awareness about multivitamins to combat fatigue.

Sandeep Verma, Country Head of Bayer Consumer Health Division, stresses the importance of addressing these nutritional gaps, stating, “Our survey highlights the critical need for balanced nutrition and multivitamins to enhance daily energy levels and overall well-being.”For further insights and recommendations on managing fatigue, including expert advice from healthcare professionals like Prof. Dr. Ketan K Mehta, the full Supradyn Fatigue Survey report provides detailed findings and actionable guidance.
