H&H Aluminium unveils India’s largest solar frame plant in Rajkot with Rs 150 cr investment

H&H Aluminium Pvt Ltd inaugurated India’s largest and most advanced aluminium solar panel frame manufacturing plant in Rajkot, Gujarat, on July 4. Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Patil led the inauguration at the state-of-the-art facility built with an investment of ₹150 crore. Spread over 28,000 sq. metres, the plant boasts a production capacity of 24,000 metric tonnes per annum—enough to support up to 6 GW of solar installations. With commercial operations set to begin within a month, the facility is expected to generate ₹700–750 crore in annual sales and provide employment to over 300 people.

This development is a significant step toward reducing India’s dependency on imports, as 90–95% of aluminium frames used in solar panels are currently imported. Following the imposition of anti-dumping duties on Chinese imports in September 2024, the plant aligns with the Make in India initiative and the nation’s renewable energy targets.

In Kolkata, a key solar distribution hub in eastern India, stakeholders have welcomed the development, anticipating improved supply chain efficiency and reduced frame procurement costs for regional solar projects. H&H Aluminium’s Director, Uttam Patel, called the project a landmark for domestic manufacturing, while Director Vijay Kaneria noted the booming opportunity with India targeting 280 GW solar capacity by 2030.
