Hero Motocorp’s Gurugram Facility is moving toward‘ water stewardship

Hero MotoCorp’s manufacturing facility in Gurugram, Haryana, has been awarded the CII National Award for Excellence in Water Management, recognizing it as the ‘Winner’ in the ‘Within the Fence’ category. This is a recognition of the Company’s innovation and excellence in water management and the positive outcome of the water management initiatives at its Gurugram facility.

Hero MotoCorp is embracing water stewardship by reducing usage and wastage, and providing access to water for communities beyond its premises. This award acknowledges Hero MotoCorp’s commitment to sustainability and ensuring future generations remain water secure.

Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer, is on track to achieve its 500% water positive target by 2025, saving nearly 3.8 million kiloliters of water annually. The company is implementing a water-reduction, recycling, recovery, and recharge strategy, replacing RO filtration with Ultra Filtration and reusing machine RO reject water in cooling towers. The focus is on enhancing the efficiency of DM and R.O plants and implementing cascading rinsing over continuous rinsing in various water conservation programs.
