Alipur Meteorological Department said the direction of low pressure is west-north. It is moving towards North Chhattisgarh through Odisha. The depression that formed over the Shadio Bay of Bengal has lost much of its strength. Rains will continue in West Bengal even as the low pressure eases. There will be heavy rain in some places and light to moderate rain in some places. The amount of rain may increase from Thursday. The Alipur Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in all the districts of South Bengal on Wednesday. Scattered rain will continue. The weather office has issued a warning of rain with lightning in Hooghly, two 24 parganas. Heavy rain is forecast in Hooghly and two 24 Parganas on Thursday.

According to the Alipur Meteorological Department, the sky in Kolkata will be mainly cloudy on Wednesday. There may be light rain at some places. The maximum temperature may be around 33 degrees Celsius. A minimum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius is likely. Like in South Bengal, the amount of rain will increase from Thursday in North Bengal as well. A thunderstorm warning is in place for Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, and Alipurduar on Wednesday. Scattered heavy rain may occur in Darjeeling on Thursday. Light to moderate rain is also forecast in other districts.
