Kolkata Heart Lung Center (KHLC) and Heartnet India have partnered to improve cardiac care in West Bengal and Eastern India. The partnership aims to enhance cardiac care and infrastructure while focusing on preventing cardiovascular disease (CVD) in the region. The rising prevalence of cardiovascular disease among younger adults aged 30 to 45 in Eastern India is a concern, as it has a higher incidence compared to other regions. Dr. Sunip Banerjee, an Alumnus of CMC, Kolkata, and PGI, Chandigarh, brings four decades of clinical excellence to the partnership. His approach focuses on non-surgical methods, minimally invasive procedures, and holistic treatment plans for faster recovery and overall well-being for cardiac and pulmonary patients.
KHLC and Heartnet are committed to implementing routine screening programs for early detection of CVD and prompt treatment, which is expected to reduce the mortality rate in Eastern India. The two organizations also plan to enhance healthcare infrastructure and improve access to medical services, easing the burden on patients and their families.
Heartnet India CEO Arindam Sen is excited about partnering with KHLC to enhance cardiac healthcare infrastructure in India, stating that the partnership will aid in the development of healthcare facilities through trained professionals in the region.
