The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has expressed sincere gratitude to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for allotting three Indian Premier League (IPL) matches to the ACA Stadium, Guwahati. ACA president Taranga Gogoi and secretary Sanatan Das conveyed their appreciation for the continued support and trust placed in Assam as a venue for premier cricketing events. The association also thanked Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, noting that despite his engagement in election-related responsibilities, he extended full support and cooperation towards the successful conduct of the matches.
Further, ACA expressed sincere gratitude to BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia for his continued encouragement and support for the development of cricket in the state. The association placed on record its appreciation for the coordinated efforts of various departments of the Assam government, including Assam Police, health services, Guwahati Municipal Corporation, Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority, Assam Power Distribution Company Limited, public health engineering, fire and emergency services, and the public works department, among others. Besides, it acknowledged the tireless efforts of its curators and groundmen, whose dedication ensured that the playing conditions met high standards despite challenges. “The successful hosting of the matches has once again highlighted Assam’s growing prominence on the national cricketing stage,” the association said in a statement on Saturday.
