Tata Motors has supplied 100 electric buses to Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC), including 9-metre, air-conditioned Tata Ultra buses, for safe, comfortable, and convenient intra-city commutes in Guwahati, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer. These zero-emission, next-gen buses are designed for safe, comfortable, and convenient intra-city commutes. Launched by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on 1 January 2024, the buses are powered by advanced battery systems and are built on next-gen architecture.
Tata Motors has announced the launch of its Tata Ultra electric buses, which are designed to make public transport more efficient and safe. Commenting to the announcement, Mr. Rohit Srivastava, Vice President & Business Head – CV Passengers, Tata Motors, said, “We are elated to have our Tata Ultra electric buses inducted and operational to serve the residents of Guwahati.”
Tata Motors has supplied over 1,500 electric buses across India, covering over 10 crore kilometers with an uptime of over 95%.
