Guwahati secured top ranks in the SOF Olympiad exam for 2023-24

Three Guwahati students have achieved top ranks in the SOF Olympiad exam for 2023-24. Danish Akhtar, a first-grade student from Sanskriti the Gurukul, achieved the first rank in the International English Olympiad, earning a gold medal and merit certificate. Anuska Saikia, a seventh-grade student from Royal Global School, also claimed the second rank in the International English Olympiad, receiving an international silver medal and a merit certificate. Dakshesh Kundu, a first-grade student from Modern English School, also claimed the third rank in the International English Olympiad, earning an international bronze medal and a merit certificate.

The Science Olympiad Foundation hosted an awards ceremony at New Delhi to honor the winners, their teachers, and principals for the academic year 2023-24. The event celebrated the top three worldwide rank holders from grade 1 to 12 who participated in seven different Olympiad exams. Distinguished guests like former Chief Justice of India, Justice Dipak Misra, and renowned author and screenwriter Chetan Bhagat graced the occasion.

At the ceremony, former chief Justice of India, Justice Dipak Misra asserted, “When you talk about competition, success follows it because everyone competes to succeed. Success is the real achievement”. This year’s SOF Olympiad saw participation from approximately millions of students across 70 countries, including over 44,103 students from Guwahati. Notable schools from Guwahati, including Gurukul Grammar Sr. Sec. School, St. Francis De Sales Higher Secondary School were among the participants.
