GUWAHATI FRONTIER BSF APPREHENDED ONE INDIAN SMUGGLER AND RESCUED 201 NOs CATTLE HEADS

In operations, troops of Border Security Force under Guwahati Frontier apprehended an Indian smuggler and rescued 201 cattle heads from the bordering areas of District Coochbehar (West Bengal) , Dhubri & South Salamat (Assam) On intervening night of 08/09 Sept’ 2020.

Acting on tip off, on intervening night of 08/09 Sept 2020, troops of BSF BOP Hatichar of 41 Bn BSF under Guwahati Frontier carried out a special operation in general area of village 60-Bigha, PS- Sukhchar, Distt- South Salamara (Assam) and apprehended an Indian cattle smuggler along with 10 cattle heads, while these were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended cattle smuggler identified as Sajjan Shekh (30 Yrs), S/o Rajat Sheikh, R/o Devnaralga, PS & Distt- South Salamara (Assam).

Apprehended cattle smuggler along with cattle heads have been handed over to Police Station Sukhchar, Distt- South Salamara (Assam) for further legal action.

Besides above, vigilant Seema Prahari of BSF have also rescued 191 Nos cattle heads in various other operations from bordering areas of Distt Coochbehar (WB), Dhubri & South Salamara (Assam) while the same were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration and are making all endeavours to contain such trans-border crimes.
