A 5.5 magnitude earthquake struck near Gujarat’s Rajkot at 8.13 PM Sunday, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the government’s nodal agency for monitoring of seismic activity in the country. The epicentre of the earthquake was 118 km north-northwest of Rajkot, according to the NCS.
The quake was felt in cities like Kutch, Rajkot, Ahmedabad and Patan, where many people rushed out of their houses.
The time of the quake was 8.13 pm. Citizens in high-rises rushed out of their residences in several parts of Ahmedabad.
