Today, the Sixth Institute Day was enthusiastically celebrated on the campus of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Guwahati. Along with distinguished dignitaries from various organizations, AIIMS Guwahati students, teachers, officers, staff, and nursing officers participated in the occasion.Speaking to the audience, Prof. Ashok Puranik, Executive Director of AIIMS Guwahati, discussed the Institute’s development from its first temporary location at Gauhati Medical College to its current permanent campus in Changsari. He outlined the Institute’s noteworthy accomplishments during the previous five years in the fundamental domains of patient care, high-quality medical education, and health-focused research. Stressing that Institute Day is a time to focus on future goals and to celebrate accomplishments Under the Prime Minister’s PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation) strategy, Prof. Puranik observed the quick development of AIIMS Guwahati to proactive governance, prompt project implementation, and efficient coordination.
The 7D Strategy—Document, Display, Demonstrate, Disseminate, Dialogue, Decision, and Delivery—was presented by Prof. BKS. Sanjay, President of AIIMS Guwahati, with the goal of enhancing efficient healthcare delivery. He also emphasized the importance of Foundation Day, which is held in conjunction with National Youth Day and honors Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. Prof. BKS Sanjay finished his speech with a little poem that spoke to the Institute’s ethos of service, commitment, and young vitality.Dr. Harsha Bhattacharjee, Founder Medical Director of Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, Guwahati, gave the Institute Oration Lecture. In his speech, he emphasized the vital role that healthcare facilities play in community involvement and the dedication needed to reach underprivileged and unreachable communities.
Prof. Prashant Joshi, Executive Director, AIIMS Nagpur; Prof. Arvind Sinha, Executive Director, AIIMS Kalyani; and Dr. Sajal Sen, Chief Operating Officer, Assam Advanced Healthcare Innovation Institute were among the prominent guests who attended the occasion. The dignitaries emphasized the significance of honesty, integrity, and ethical principles in medical practice while congratulating the Executive Director and the whole AIIMS Guwahati team on the Institute’s quick development.
