Team ‘Eco Tech Innovator’ from Golaghat, Assam, has been shortlisted as one of the top 20 semi-finalists in Samsung India’s prestigious CSR initiative, ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ 2024. This year’s competition, which received ideas from students across 12 states and 2 Union Territories, celebrates innovative solutions addressing community challenges and environmental sustainability.
Samsung’s ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ program highlights a diverse array of ideas, with 25% of the top 20 entries focusing on water conservation and pollution control, and 20% targeting digital literacy gaps. Notable participants hail from remote regions like Imphal in Manipur and East Khasi Hills in Meghalaya, showcasing the program’s broad reach and inclusivity.
The semi-finalists will attend an Innovation Walk at Samsung’s offices and R&D centers before pitching their ideas at a national event held at IIT Delhi. The winning teams in the school and youth tracks will receive significant grants and Samsung products to support their prototype development and enhance their projects.SP Chun, Corporate Vice President of Samsung Southwest Asia, praised the program’s focus on regional talent, while Prof. Preeti Ranjan Panda from IIT-Delhi expressed enthusiasm about the potential impact of the innovative ideas.
