Godrej Professional launches spotlight to empower India’s salontalent

Godrej Professional, a leading brand under Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL), has introduced Godrej Professional Spotlight, a platform designed to showcase the creativity of India’s hairstyling community. Partnering with the Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC), the initiative aims to upskill 30 shortlisted hairstylists while awarding up to ₹5 lakh in funding to winners.

The grand finale, scheduled for December in Mumbai, will feature curated hair shows judged by industry icons, including celebrity stylist YianniTsapatori. First, second, and third-place winners will receive ₹5 lakh, ₹2.5 lakh, and ₹1.5 lakh, respectively, along with opportunities for advanced training and celebrity collaborations.

In Guwahati, where the salon industry is expanding with increasing consumer aspirations, initiatives like this could be transformative. “Programs like Spotlight offer stylists a chance to hone their skills and cater to the city’s growing demand for premium hair care services,” noted a Guwahati-based salon owner. Abhinav Grandhi, General Manager of GCPL, highlighted the initiative’s inclusivity, encouraging participation from stylists with disabilities. Monica Bahl, CEO of B&WSSC, emphasized its role in advancing professionalism in the beauty sector.
