Godrej Industries backs Jane Goodall Institute’s India Youth Council launch

The Godrej Industries Group has partnered with the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) India to launch its Youth Council Programme, a platform empowering young changemakers. The initiative, part of JGI’s global Roots & Shoots movement, aims to foster community-centered projects promoting environmental protection, animal welfare, and social causes.

The launch event featured Burjis Godrej, Executive Director of Godrej Agrovet Limited, and Dr. Jane Goodall, the world-renowned primatologist and anthropologist. Burjis Godrej, serving as a mentor for the council, expressed excitement about the initiative: “This council stands for every act of goodness, whether protecting our environment, advancing animal welfare, or supporting causes that make a positive difference. We look forward to the compassion and impact these young leaders will bring.”

Dr. Jane Goodall emphasized the crucial role of youth in addressing global challenges. “Young people give me hope,” she said. “Even if they choose one goal to pursue with their friends, they can make a visible positive impact.” Roots & Shoots mentors Valerie Mascarenhas and Vandana Pandey were also honored for their exemplary work in youth-led initiatives. The council is set to inspire the next generation of empathetic leaders for lasting change.
