Godrej Agrovet launches first Samadhan Centre in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu;  empowers oil palm farmers

Godrej Agrovet Limited’s Oil Palm Plantation business inaugurated its maiden Samadhan Centre in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, marking a significant step towards enhancing support for oil palm farmers. The Samadhan Centre serves as a comprehensive resource hub offering knowledge, tools, services, and solutions aimed at boosting yields and productivity among farmers.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of dignitaries including Dr. T.R.B. Rajaa, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, Investment Promotion & Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, Sougata Niyogi, CEO of Oil Palm Business at Godrej Agrovet Limited, and Rakesh Swami, Group President Corporate Affairs, Godrej Industries Group. Dr. T.R.B. Rajaa expressed his satisfaction at the launch, emphasizing the government’s commitment to supporting agricultural growth in Tamil Nadu’s Delta region under the leadership of Honourable Chief Minister Thiru. MK Stalin. He highlighted the partnership with Godrej Agrovet as pivotal in advancing agricultural practices and enhancing farmer incomes.

Godrej Agrovet, a pioneer in India’s oil palm sector, aims to expand plantations by an additional 60,000 hectares by 2027, aligning with the National Mission on Edible Oil – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) introduced in 2021. The Samadhan Centre initiative supports this goal by providing specialized guidance and leveraging advanced agricultural practices.Balram Singh Yadav, Managing Director of Godrej Agrovet Limited, noted, “The launch of the Samadhan Centre in Tamil Nadu underscores our commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and the prosperity of farmers. This initiative will facilitate easier access to developmental finance, government subsidies, and schemes.”

Rakesh Swami highlighted Godrej Industries Group’s legacy of positive impact and collaboration with Tamil Nadu’s progressive governance.
