Godrej aer, the country’s leading fragrance brand under Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), on Tuesday unveiled its latest innovation – the aer Plug, touted as India’s most affordable electric room freshener. Priced at just ₹149, the device delivers continuous fragrance for up to 60 days, costing only ₹2.5 per day, and comes in two premium variants: Violet Bloom and Rose Blossom.
Designed by GCPL’s in-house studio Disco, aer Plug combines sleek, modern aesthetics with smart heater technology, making electric room fresheners accessible to a broader Indian audience. The launch addresses a key gap in India’s ₹3,000 crore air freshener market, where electric diffusers have been traditionally expensive, leaving sprays dominant with a ₹1,000 crore market share. “The aer Plug bridges the price gap, offering premium fragrance at an affordable cost, potentially attracting new consumers while upgrading existing spray users,” said Shilpa Suresh, Head of Marketing – Home Care, GCPL.
In Guwahati, the aer Plug is expected to resonate strongly with urban households and office spaces, where demand for affordable yet premium home care products is growing. Retailers in the city’s leading modern trade outlets have reported early interest, highlighting the device’s potential to transform the local electric diffuser segment. Available across modern trade, e-commerce, and general trade channels nationwide, the aer Plug starter kit is priced at ₹149, with refills at ₹99, bringing premium fragrance within reach of every home.
