On Sunday, a catastrophic fire at a nightclub in Goa claimed the lives of at least three individuals from Assam, identified as Rahul Tanti and Manojit Mal from Cachar district, and Diganta Patir from Dhemaji. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his condolences to the families affected by this tragedy, stating, “I am deeply saddened to hear the news of death of three persons from Assam in this accident.” The incident, which took place at the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub, resulted in a total of 25 fatalities, including four tourists and 14 staff members.
