Glenmark Nutrition Awards 2025 honours innovations in malnutrition fight

The Glenmark Foundation, in collaboration with IDOBRO, UN Global Compact Network India, and IMPAct4Nutrition, successfully concluded the 5th edition of the Glenmark Nutrition Awards 2025. The event recognized groundbreaking initiatives addressing malnutrition across India, with 403 entries from 22 states covering 168 districts. MA distinguished jury, chaired by Dr. RajuJotkar, Senior Consultant at the Mother-Child Health & Nutrition Mission, evaluated the entries. The winners included Baikunthapur Tarun Sangha from Sundarbans, West Bengal (Rural NGO category), SNEH Foundation from Pune, Maharashtra (Urban NGO category), and Mahavir International Foundation Trust from Jaipur, Rajasthan (Other category). Each organization received a grant of ₹2,00,000 to further their nutrition initiatives.

Cheryl Pinto, Executive Director – Corporate Services, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd., emphasized, “Healthy children are the foundation of a healthier world. Our winners have demonstrated that with vision, innovation, and strategy, we can tackle malnutrition.”

The Sundarbans, a region prone to climatic challenges, stands to benefit immensely from Baikunthapur Tarun Sangha’s initiatives. The organization’s efforts are crucial in addressing nutritional gaps in the community, where sustainable food practices and better healthcare access can improve overall well-being. Dr. Raju Jotkar highlighted the importance of broadening focus to include obesity-related concerns alongside malnutrition. The Glenmark Foundation continues to prioritize maternal and child health through a comprehensive, sustainable approach to nutrition.
