Glenmark boosts healthcare in Sikkim with upgraded wellness centres and mobile services

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, through its CSR arm Glenmark Foundation, has enhanced healthcare infrastructure in Sikkim by upgrading Health and Wellness Centres (Sub Health Centres) at Marchak and Tumlabong. The initiative is aimed at strengthening community health and aligns with the government’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Kayakalp Programme.

As part of its broader vision to “enrich lives for a healthier and happier world,” Glenmark has also been running its flagship “Health on Wheels for Children” program for over eight years. The mobile health unit currently serves over 23,000 people across 16 remote villages and 33 anganwadis, offering free consultations, medicines, health education, and referrals for children under six and pregnant or lactating women.

In addition to healthcare, Glenmark is also supporting education and public safety in the region. The company recently aided classroom upgrades at West Point Senior Secondary School in Gangtok and donated nearly 60 solar lights across multiple localities to enhance safety and accessibility. “Creating lasting impact in the communities around us is a core part of our purpose at Glenmark,” said Vijay Kumar Mangla, Head of Manufacturing–Sikkim. Glenmark Foundation continues to drive social change by focusing on maternal and child health, hygiene, immunization, and sustainable livelihood.
