As Ayodhya prepares for the historic inauguration of the Ram Mandir, the world joins hands in a unique celebration transcending borders. The spiritual city is witnessing an influx of gifts from diverse corners of the globe, turning the 22nd of January into a grand global spectacle. Indic thought and cultural richness take center stage as countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand shower Ayodhya with symbolic offerings. Over 3,000 gifts from Sita’s birthplace, Janakpur, Nepal, including silver shoes and ornate clothing, arrived in a convoy of 30 vehicles. Sri Lanka’s delegation presented an extraordinary offering—a rock from the fabled Ashok Vatika, immortalized in the epic Ramayana.
Adding to the cultural tapestry, Thailand, with its deep historical ties to India, contributes special soil from Ayutthaya for the consecration ceremony. Swami Vigyanananand, founder of the World Hindu Foundation, highlighted the cultural bonds woven through such gestures.
The Jalabhishek ritual will see holy water arriving from 156 countries, including South Korea, China, Kazakhstan, Iran, Suriname, Canada, and Russia. The world converges in Ayodhya, making this celebration of Lord Ram a truly international phenomenon, where cultural unity becomes the heartbeat of a shared global heritage.
