Garima Garg Seeks Special Court in Zubeen Garg Death Case, Writes to PM

Garima Saikia Garg, wife of music icon Zubeen Garg, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to advocate for the establishment of a special court aimed at expediting the legal proceedings related to her husband’s death. In her letter, she emphasizes the necessity of a Special Court to ensure efficient adjudication and minimize procedural delays. She requests the government to consider appointing additional experienced prosecutors from Assam’s team to handle the case with the required expertise and urgency. Garima insists on fast-tracking the trial to prevent justice from being delayed or diluted and asserts that none of the accused should be released on bail until the judicial process is completed. Furthermore, she calls for active legal cooperation with Singapore to oversee the Coroner’s Court proceedings, ensuring that all pertinent evidence is accessible to Indian authorities and that jurisdictional issues do not obstruct truth. Zubeen Garg passed away in Singapore on September 19, 2025, while swimming in the sea.
