The Government of Assam, in partnership with Apollo Dialysis Clinics under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, has strengthened access to free dialysis services in Dibrugarh district through the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP), benefiting thousands of patients suffering from chronic kidney disease.
The initiative operates dialysis centres at Assam Medical College & Hospital, Moran Community Health Centre (CHC) and Naharkatia Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital, enabling eligible patients to receive hospital-grade renal care closer to home without incurring out-of-pocket expenses. According to official data as of June 2026, the three centres have served 6,288 kidney patients and conducted 44,670 free dialysis sessions across the district.
Apollo Dialysis Clinics Chief Operating Officer M. Sudhakara Rao said the centres are supported by modern infrastructure, experienced nephrologists and trained dialysis technicians, with a special emphasis on improving access to quality kidney care in rural and remote areas through the partnership with the Assam government.
The Dibrugarh facilities form part of a wider statewide network under which Apollo currently operates 72 dialysis centres in Assam, while nine more clinics are ready for launch. The network has collectively served over 20,000 patients and delivered more than 12 lakh free dialysis sessions across the state.
In Dibrugarh, the expansion of advanced dialysis services is expected to strengthen the city’s position as Upper Assam’s leading healthcare hub. Improved access to specialised renal treatment is likely to reduce medical travel costs for patients from neighbouring districts, generate demand for healthcare support services, and reinforce Dibrugarh’s growing importance in the region’s medical infrastructure and healthcare economy.
