Four Hurt as Grenade Explodes at Police Commando Camp in Assam’s Tinsukia

Unknown assailants executed a pre-dawn assault on an Assam Police Commando camp in Jagun 10 Mile, Tinsukia district, around 2 am on Sunday. The attackers hurled at least five grenades and opened heavy gunfire. While no group has officially claimed responsibility, police suspect ULFA (Independent) involvement. Security personnel retaliated, engaging in a firefight for nearly 30 minutes in this sensitive area near Arunachal Pradesh. Four commandos were injured; three sustained minor wounds, while one was seriously hurt, and all were taken to a nearby hospital. The injured personnel have been identified as Chitrangjan Milli from Jorhat, Devashis Bora, and Ravi Gar Gowala Para from Chabua. Tinsukia has experienced similar incidents, highlighting ongoing security issues in Northeast India. In response, security forces have intensified combing operations, established roadblocks, and enhanced aerial surveillance to locate the attackers.
