Bihar police on Saturday said they have arrested four people in connection with the murder of a Daily Jagran journalist, who was shot dead at his residence in Araria district in the early hours of Friday. The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Vimal Yadav. Four people who came to his house in Raniganj to shoot him in the chest.
“Eight people have been named as accused. Four of the accused namely Vipin Yadav, Bhavesh Yadav, Ashish Yadav and Umesh Yadav have been arrested. Two accused Rupesh Yadav and Kranti Yadav are in Araria jail and the police are taking them on remand. Two accused are absconding,” news agency ANI quoted Bihar police as saying.
The journalist witnessed the killing of his brother in 2019. Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Singh said on Friday that Vimal was shot dead around 5.30 am. Singh said, initially it appears to be a case of enmity.
