A shooting incident at the Bathinda military installation in Punjab early on Wednesday morning resulted in the deaths of four Army servicemen from an artillery unit; the state police have classified it as a “fratricide.”
The Army reported that the incident happened at about 4:30 in the morning and that it immediately sent out quick response teams and roped off the area.
It has been determined that four army jawans from an artillery battalion died as a result of gunshot wounds they sustained in the tragic occurrence. No further incidents involving personnel injuries or property loss or damage have been reported, according to a statement from the Army’s South Western command.
