Godrej Agrovet Limited on Thursday signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, announcing an investment of ₹70 crore to expand its dairy processing capacity and establish new Samadhan Centres for oil palm farmers. The MoU was signed in Visakhapatnam in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Godrej Agrovet MD & CEO Sunil Kataria, and Rakesh Swami, Group President–Corporate Affairs, Godrej Industries Group.
Chief Minister Naidu welcomed the partnership, calling it a crucial step toward strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s agri-food processing ecosystem and creating sustainable livelihoods. Sunil Kataria said the agreement reflects Godrej Agrovet’s commitment to supporting communities while enhancing India’s nutrition landscape. The company will scale up dairy operations through its subsidiary, Creamline Dairy Products Limited, which markets products under the Godrej Jersey brand. Five new Samadhan Centres will also be established to provide farmers with tools, advisory services, and end-to-end solutions for oil palm cultivation.
In Guwahati, the investment signals rising confidence in India’s dairy and agri-value chain, with experts noting that similar expansions could positively influence supply consistency and competitive pricing in northeastern markets. Guwahati, a major consumption hub, is likely to benefit from improved inter-state product availability. Rakesh Swami added that Andhra Pradesh has played a pivotal role in the group’s growth, citing the state’s investor-friendly policies and swift approvals.
