First combined Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Dimapur was held at Ao Baptist Church Diphupar on February 28 under the theme, “to bring innovation to the life transformation programs within the Church”.
A press release through program manager, North East Artist Network (NEAN), Bokatoli kinimi Z stated that during the programme, members of AA from different Churches participated through sharing of life testimonies, life before and after joining “life transformation camp”.
One of the AA members shared his testimony on how his life had changed after joining the “life transformation camp”.
He shared that during his three years of sobriety, he flourished financially and now lived contentedly with his family, which was missing for the last many years.
Pastors from participating churches spoke on the theme and benefits of AA in the churches such as: identity & recognition; to encourage the alcoholic community spiritually; to understand and make them aware about the value of life; to have a healthy relationship with the society; a platform for alcoholic community to help each other in times of difficulties & relapse and to help the alcoholics for a better sustained sobriety and improve the quality of life of an alcoholic.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by AA Diphupar president, L. Yanger Imsong and secretary, Imkonglemba Longkumer. Welcome address and invocation was pronounced by deacon, Ao Baptist Church Diphupar while vote of thanks and concluding remark was delivered by advisor AA, Ao Baptist Church Diphupar and motivational speech by chief functionary of NEAN.
