The Finance and Central Bank Deputies (FCBD) meeting, co-chaired by Ajay Seth and Dr. Michael D. Patra, will take place from July 14-18, 2023 in Gandhinagar. The meeting aims to discuss major global economic challenges among G20 members and partner countries.
On the first day of the meeting, the delegates deliberated on strengthening Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) in a roundtable session. The focus of the meeting is to deliberate on the outcome document ahead of the New Delhi G20 Leaders’ Summit. The outcome document presents G20 Finance Track work streams and FMCBG’s guidance for the 3rd meeting, scheduled for July. Discussions will be carried forward to the FMCBG meeting.
Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and RBI Governor Dr. Shaktikanta Das will jointly chair the third FMCBG meeting, attended by G20 members, finance ministers, guest country governors, and international organizations. The meeting will focus on global economy and international financial architecture. The G20 meeting will feature five thematic sessions on Global Economy, Sustainable Finance, Infrastructure, International Financial Architecture, International Taxation, and Financial Inclusion, as well as discussing the ‘Funding and Financing Mechanism for Cities of the Future’.
