It is said that in India, there is a student in every street, every village and every city who aims of becoming an IAS or IPS Officer or bureaucrats. Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s new movie is about these students. After bringing us movies like ‘Parinda’, ‘1942: A Love Story’, ‘Mission Kashmir’, The Munnabhai franchise, ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘PK’, the producer-director is directing and producing ‘12th Fail’, taken from the bestselling novel of the same name of Anurag Pathak’s.
The movie is inspired by the true story of IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS Officer Shraddha Joshi. But ‘12th Fail’ isn’t a biography as much as it is a image of the power of one – how a single man or woman with integrity can create seismic change. ‘12th Fail’ will be the first movie which will be recorded in New Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar, the place that has seen the birth of generations of IAS and IPS officers.
The movie is titled by actor Vikrant Massey. This movie is a dedication to all the students who aims, to all the hard-working officers who are the cornerstone of our country and constitution.
The movie is set to hit theatres in 2023.The team has packed up the first schedule of ’12th Fail’ in Chambal, Agra, and at present is shooting the second schedule in Delhi.
