Fast-moving Biswanath Panchayat election preparations are underway

The Biswanath government, like the rest of the state, is prepared for the next Panchayat election. In preparation for the impending election, the first part of the training program for the presiding and polling officials was successfully finished. Training was provided for 558 presiding officers and 2232 first, second, and third polling officers, each of whom included 60 women. Anuja Bhuyan, Joint Secretary, School Education Department, Government of Assam, and Munindra Nath Ngatey, District Commissioner, Biswanath, attended the training at Biswanath College as observers for the 2025 Panchayat election for Biswanath ZPC 1 and 2 and Sakomatha ZPC 1 and 2.

Twenty-two Master Trainers took part in this course. Additional District Commissioner Rakesh Deka also attended this event. Additionally, Bhuyan has made several trips to polling places in Sakomatha ZPC 1 and 2 and Biswanath ZPC 1 and 2. Three General Observers have been chosen by the State Election Commission to oversee the free, transparent, and seamless conduct of the upcoming Panchayat elections in the Biswanath district. In the meantime, 1,373 candidates were still running for the next Panchayat elections.

Of them, 1233 are running for Gaon Panchayat member seats, 112 are running for Anchalik Panchayat member seats, and 28 are running for Zila Parishad seats.
