The late artist received the awards for Best Playback Singer (Male), the Lifetime Achievement Award, and a Special Honour for his work in the film Roi Roi Binale. The recognition was seen as a tribute to his long and influential career in music and cinema.
The awards were received by his wife, Garima Saikia Garg, and his father, Kapil Thakur, at their residence. In a quiet and emotional ceremony, Jitesh Pillaai, Editor-in-Chief of Filmfare, presented them with the Black Lady trophy.
