Elanpro certifies 30 refrigeration technicians in Guwahati to strengthen cold chain sector

Elanpro, in collaboration with non-profit Care U 365, has successfully concluded the first phase of its “Cool Skills, Bright Future” initiative in Guwahati, certifying 30 aspiring refrigeration technicians. The six-week skill development programme, held at Assam Engineering College, aimed to address the shortage of qualified service professionals in India’s fast-growing commercial refrigeration industry. The certification ceremony was attended by Assam Minister for Education, Welfare of Plain Tribe & Backward Classes Ranuj Pegu, Director of Technical Education Dhrubajyoti Bora, and AEI Chandmari Principal Dr. Hitesh Tahbildar. Trainees underwent a blend of classroom sessions, performance assessments, and hands-on experience with real-world refrigeration systems. Selected graduates will also receive internship and placement opportunities.

From the Guwahati market perspective, the initiative arrives at a crucial time. The city’s expanding network of quick service restaurants, cloud kitchens, artisanal dairies, and ice-cream parlours is fuelling demand for efficient cold storage and maintenance services. Local startups, backed by the Assam Start-up & Innovation Policy 2025, are driving this growth, making a trained workforce essential for sustaining momentum.

Elanpro Director Sanjay Jain highlighted that the industry is growing at over 15% annually, underscoring the urgent need for skilled technicians. The programme will soon expand to other cities in Assam.
