Eight individuals lost their lives in a tragic head-on collision involving an ambulance and a six-wheeler truck in Dhekiajuli, Assam, on Sunday night. The accident took place near Rubbertola on National Highway-15, as the ambulance was en route to a hospital from Tulip tea estate, carrying a patient and their relatives. Among the fatalities is an infant, highlighting the severity of the incident. The force of the collision resulted in the ambulance being reduced to a mangled mass of metal. It has been reported that the truck was navigating through Dhekiajuli town, allegedly to circumvent two toll gates on the Nagaon-Tezpur route. In the aftermath of the crash, the authorities seized the truck, although the driver and his helper managed to escape the scene.
