Eid was observed solemnly in Hojai District

Hojai District observed Eid-ul-Fitr with seriousness, much like the rest of the globe. Notably, Eid-ul-Fitr ushers in the month of Shawwal and signifies the conclusion of the Islamic month of Ramadan’s fasting period. At Hojai Eidgah Maidan, Nilbagan Eidgah Maidan, Daboka Eidgah Maidan, Udali, Jugijaan, Murajhar, Gopal Nagar, Kapasbari, Lanka, and Lumding, thousands of Muslims participated in the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration. Eid Ul-Fitr is not just a time for Muslims to break their fast; it also marks the achievement of religious virtue and communion with the holy spirit, which is marked by self-discipline, sacrifice, and charitable deeds.

On the first day of the month of Shawwal, a large number of Muslims from all over the district went to prayers and heard discourses, or Khutba. It has been said that a Muslim can offer Zakat al-Fitr on Eid-ul-Fitr if they did not give it during Ramadan. A type of philanthropy known as zakat al-Fitr involves giving the impoverished a quantity of food, such as rich barley, dates, raisins, or wheat flour, or the equivalent in cash. In addition, a lot of Muslims cook celebratory meals to share, dress in new attire, visit family, and give kids presents or chocolates. Children were swarming the markets, buying a variety of foods and sporting goods as they celebrated.
