The India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), under the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry, will organise the 15th East Himalayan Trade Fair (EHTF) along with the second East Himalayan Agri Expo (EHAE) in Guwahati from January 22 to 28, 2026. The events will be held at the Assam Engineering Institute Playground, Chandmari.
Addressing mediapersons here on Monday, Lt Col Harsh Kondilya, General Manager of the Fair Division, ITPO, said the East Himalayan Trade Fair is one of ITPO’s flagship regional initiatives aimed at promoting inclusive economic growth, entrepreneurship and market access in eastern and northeastern India. He said the 15th edition is expected to strengthen trade linkages while providing a vibrant platform for MSMEs, startups, self-help groups, farmers and entrepreneurs. Several Indian states, including Haryana, Bihar, Delhi and Rajasthan, will participate through dedicated pavilions showcasing their cultural heritage, traditional crafts and regional products.
The second East Himalayan Agri Expo will be organised concurrently, focusing on agriculture, horticulture, organic products, processed foods, agri-equipment and allied sectors. It will provide a platform for farmers, FPOs, agri-entrepreneurs and institutions to share knowledge, display innovations and explore market opportunities. Discussions are also underway for international participation from countries such as Thailand and Afghanistan, adding an international dimension to the fair. The event will feature cultural programmes, a multi-cuisine food court and visitor engagement activities, supported by a wide publicity campaign to ensure strong footfall.
