Durgapur students achieve top international rankings in Science Olympiad

Three students from Durgapur have achieved international ranks in the Science Olympiad exam. Shatavisha Dasgupta, a fourth grader from DAV model school, and Indrashis Dutta, a seventh grader from Hem Sheela model school, secured international rank 1. Shatavisha Dasgupta received Rs 50000, an international gold medal, and a certificate, while Hem Sheela received a gold medal and a certificate.

In the International Mathematics Olympiad Saikat Debnath student of class 10th from HEM Sheela Model School secured international rank 3 and received an international bronze medal with a certificate.Over 55,000 students from Durgapur participated in the SOF Olympiad exam, including DAV Model School, HEM Sheela Model School, Durgapur Public School, Carmel Convent High School, and ST. Michaels School.

The Science Olympiad Foundation held an awards ceremony to recognize the top three SOF worldwide rank winners from classes First to Twelve for the academic year 2022-2023. The ceremony was graced by Justice Dipak Misra, former Chief Justice of India. Mahabir Singh, Founder and Director of SOF, said, “Additionally, 3000 principals and instructors have received awards for their dedication to education and single-minded quest of successfully enhancing pupils’ academic understanding.”
