Amitabh Bachchan made a donation of Rs 2 crore to Delhi’s Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Covid care centre and also arranged oxygen cylinders from abroad for the facility.
The president of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management committee Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced that operation at the facility with 300 beds will begin from May 10. He thanked the veteran actor for his contribution and said that Big B called Sikhs legendary. Big B has also arranged oxygen cylinders for the centre.
Amitabh Bachchan looks forward in helping the world during this pandemic. On Sunday, this actor shared a glimpse from the Vax Live event on Twitter where he could be seen requesting the world to help India in its fight against the pandemic. The actor was part of the Vax Live global event which was about the coronavirus. In this video, he said, “Namaskar, this is Amitabh Bachchan. My country India is battling with the sudden surge of the second wave of Covid 19. As a global citizen I appeal to all global citizens to rise up, speak to your governments, pharmaceutical companies and ask them to donate, to give, to extend a helping hand, to the public that needs it the most. Every effort counts. As Mahatma Gandhiji said: ‘In a gentle way you can shake the world’. thank you.”
