Dibrugarh’s 24×7 water supply project officially handed over to municipal corporation

A significant step toward guaranteeing safe and dependable drinking water throughout all 19 municipal wards was taken with the official handover of the Dibrugarh Town 24×7 Water Supply Project under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 1.0 to the Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation. The project, which cost ₹193 crore to build, has 7,676 residential connections and a vast distribution network spanning over 150 kilometers. According to officials, the new system will help address long-standing problems with inconsistent and dangerous water in numerous neighborhoods.

A meeting with Municipal Corporation personnel was also held during the handover to go over their responsibilities and service-related issues. Senior officials from the Department of Housing & Urban Affairs and the Cabinet Minister for Public Health Engineering attended the debate. According to authorities, the initiative will significantly enhance inhabitants’ everyday lives and help Dibrugarh meet its expanding needs in the years to come. The town’s total civic services would be strengthened, relief will be provided, and hygiene will be improved with an unbroken water supply, they stated.
