39,000 people have been affected due to the flood in the Dhemaji district.
According to sources, heavy rains in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh have submerged 76 villages under four revenue circles – Dhemaji, Jonai, Sisborgaon and Gogamukh, several ‘new areas’ thus raising water levels in many rivers in the district.
On the other hand, at least 10 villages named Dihiri Chapri, Dihiri Kachari, Tingharia, No. 2 Changmai Daloni, No. 3 Kamalpur, Azarbari, Tinsukia Kekuri, Dihiri Lepong of Jiadhal area have been affected by the flood.
About 70,000 people have been affected by the floods in five districts of Assam.
