Dettol Banega Swasth India reveals national winners for the second edition of Dettol Hygiene Olympiad

Reckitt, a global leader in consumer health and hygiene, unveiled the national winners of the second edition of the Dettol Hygiene Olympiad, marking India’s most extensive hygiene Olympiad. The announcement took place during the launch of Dettol Banega Swasth India Season 10 in Mumbai.Fifteen students, hailing from diverse regions such as Budgam, Namsai, Uttarey, Gir Somnath, and others, were honored with cash rewards. The Olympiad, a key initiative under Reckitt’s flagship campaign Dettol Banega Swasth India, aimed to raise awareness about the critical role hygiene plays in preventing childhood illnesses.

The Dettol Hygiene Olympiad 2.0 reached an impressive 30 million students across 28 states and 8 union territories, even reaching the last villages bordering neighboring countries. The program, which included participation from students in religious education schools, featured exam papers in Sanskrit to ensure accessibility.Ravi Bhatnagar, Director, External Affairs & Partnerships, SOA, Reckitt, expressed delight in witnessing the Olympiad’s success, covering the farthest corners of India. He emphasized the impact on health progress and commended the enthusiasm and knowledge demonstrated by the winning students.

The 15 winners, spanning different age groups, received cash prizes ranging from INR 15,000 to INR 50,000. The Dettol Hygiene Olympiad, by providing last-mile access and promoting positive sanitation practices, serves as a nationwide platform for hygiene education.Pema Choden Tamang, a student from Uttarey in Sikkim, emerged as a shining example of determination and resilience. Despite hailing from a humble background, Pema’s commitment to education and her participation in events like the Dettol Hygiene Olympiad underscored the Olympiad’s impact.
