Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s name was not found in the chargesheet filed by the CBI in relation with the Delhi liquor policy case on Friday. The probe agency however, maintained that the investigation against Sisodia is still in the process.
This is the first chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation in relation to the case. The chargesheet released the names of 7 people who were charged in the case, including AAP’s communication in-charge Vijay Nair and Hyderabad-based businessman Abhishek Boinpally. The others whose names are in the chargesheet are liquor trader Sameer Mahendru, Boinpally’s aide Arun Pillai, Mutthu Gautam and two public servants who were formerly employed at the excise department.
The CBI chargesheet was registered in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court before special CBI judge MK Nagpal.
The chargesheet mentioned that additional investigations on the involvement of the public servants and others on various aspects such as conspiracy with the licensees and the connected with money trails are pending. An extra chargesheet will be filed later.
The court has planned a hearing on November 30 to consider the 10,000 page documents before it takes cognisance of them.
