Dabur Products Face Food Regulator’s Scrutiny Over Online Label Marketing

The FSSAI has instructed Dabur India to stop selling certain food products, including honey and cow ghee, due to misleading 100% claims. This ruling is based on concerns that terms like 100% Natural and 100 % Organic violate the Food Safety and Standards Regulations, 2018. While the products are not deemed unsafe, the focus is on the misleading nature of the labeling. The regulator had previously cautioned food businesses against using ambiguous 100 % claims, which may confuse consumers.

FSSAI noted that Dabur Himalayan Organic Apple Cider Vinegar and Dabur Organic Honey were using the Jaivik Bharat logo without valid organic endorsement. The Jaivik Bharat mark denotes certified organic food in India. The FSSAI has ordered Dabur to cease selling certain products due to misleading 100%claims, as the company failed to take satisfactory corrective actions after an earlier notice.
