Cambridge University Press & Assessment (CUP&A) launched two books titled Interact and Writing Skills to help the students of Dibrugarh University with their English courses and develop competence in the language. The book launch event was held at Dibrugarh University (DU) amidst the presence of more than 70 HODs and professors from various colleges under DU.
Interact: A Course in Communicative English (Revised Edition) is a comprehensive coursebook meant for first-semester students at DU, Assam.
The book covers the basics of communication skills, reading, writing, and speaking skills. Writing Skills is a comprehensive book designed for the B.A. and B.Com. students of DU. It is aimed at helping students prepare for the six-credit English: Writing Skills paper for Semester I. The book not only covers the basics of writing skills but also covers essential skills in listening and speaking meant for internal assessments. Both the titles are aligned to the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) syllabus for English. CUP&A will also ensure the availability of the books in the market so the students will not face challenges like in the North-East region. An estimated 15,000 students of Assam will benefit from these titles.
Cambridge University Press & Assessment, South Asia’s Business Head – ELT, Himanshu Matta said, “We make sure that the content is designed to develop students’ competence in English with a view to equipping them for the pursuit of higher education as well as for their career progression.”
