Chennai Super Kings cricketer Ambati Rayudu surprised everyone by tweeting on Saturday that Indian Premier League 2022 will be his final season.
After an hour the veteran Indian cricketer deleted the tweet. This withdrawal of the CSK batter has created a lot of confusion among the fans.
“I am blissful to announce that this will be my ultimate IPL. I have had a fantastic time taking part in it and being a part of 2 gorgeous groups for thirteen years. Would love to truly thank Mumbai Indians and CSK for the gorgeous journey, ” tweeted Rayudu.
Following this, a CSK official denied the news of Rayudu’s retirement after talking with ANI.
This is not the happening for the first time that Rayudu has announced his retirement. When he was once again not selected for the 2019 ODI World Cup, he announced his retirement but reversed the choice and returned to play in the IPL.
His tweet on Saturday led to speculation as to whether the ongoing edition was sincerely “the last IPL” for Rayudu. With 271 runs at an average of 27.10, Rayudu is not the first to make 12 wickets in the season so far.
Responding to Rayudu’s tweet former India pacer Irfan Pathan tweeted: “Played cricket with you given that our u-19 days. Always admire your batting and the energy you provide on the field. Wish you well for your ride in advance brother. You have accomplished very nicely and should be proud of your success @RayuduAmbati.”
