CROW conducts checking of illegal trade practices: Nagaland

Consumer Rights Organisation Wokha (CROW) accompanied by Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) and Lotha Youth Hoho conducted extensive checking at sand stockists within Wokha town on February 23, 2021.

A press release by media cell, CROW stated that during the checking a total of 20 shovels were seized at sand stockists/sales in Wokha town.

On intervention, it was learned that the sand stockists were compelled to cut the shovels in order to save the expenses and for profit margin.

The release stated that sand stockists in Wokha town were following the same business practices adding that business tools including mustard oil tin and shovels used for sand sales were seized.

Meanwhile CROW warned all sand stockists and sales agencies to stop illegal business and approach its office for any grievances.

CROW also stated that it inspected all hotels, restaurants kitchens to take stock on the use of domestic LPG cooking gas.

It stated that more than 40 hotels/restaurants were checked and directed them to get commercial LPG cooking gas connection within 30 days.

CROW informed that all the seized items were handed over to the district administration in the presence of EAC Wokha HQ, Yentinoungbou.
